Lol. Dramatic much?
no.
frankly, the lack of panic and alarm here is worrying, and in my opinion there is no rationale for not sounding the alarms.
the foundation of government in this country is 3 separate branches, each serving as a check on the other. congress has largely abdicated their role in overseeing the executive branch. the president does not understand basic governing concepts. he thinks the attorney general reports directly to him and is supposed to be loyal to him, not the country. he is an authoritarian radical trying to pull apart the entire framework of the government. he is actively sabotaging the current health care system, which is codified in federal law. that isn't the job of the president. he has broken countless ethics laws and regulations. he is treating the US government like it should be a monarchy.
does that not merit a high level of concern? the people now saying this isn't a big deal and its all overblown will be the same ones saying "wow, we never saw this coming" when surveying the ruins. people see it right now. people on both sides of the political spectrum. congressional republicans will completely own this disaster. history will look back and point to people like paul ryan and mitch mcconnell and remark how they tried to hold their nose, all for the sake of cutting taxes, loosing environmental regs, and stripping health care from the poor.
trump has created a number of absolute disasters, has made misogyny, hate speech and racism more socially acceptable, and has fractured the country even more than it was over the last decade. how can people who think critically not be alarmed at what they are seeing? this goes beyond partisan disagreement. this goes beyond the "issues"....simple day to day decency is evaporating. things as basic as "reality" and "facts" are now being spun and twisted.
this is an impending disaster. it isnt business as usual.
