On the assumption that Cesc and Nasri are staying I'd choose Vidal.

Mata or Alvarez. It doesn't really matter though. The most important thing for me is that we don't lose any established players. If we can keep the core of the team intact any good player we bring in will make us stronger.

Why Alvarez over Vidal? Is it because you fancy Alvarez to become the better player in an Arsenal shirt, or because you feel we're more in need in Alvarez' position?

Both, I think. Mostly it's because he fascinates me though. I'll freely admit that I don't have much to go on but he looks like an insane talent. The more I read and see the more I want him. I'm gonna sit down and watch all the Vélez games I can get my hands on this week.

From that list I'd go with Vidal no matter who stays or goes. Exactly the sort of player we've been lacking since Flamini left.

I'm not sure about Alvarez, he looks technically good, but I'm worried he might lack penetration in his game. Prefer to spend a few mil more on Mata, he gets behind defenses alot more

Mata and Vidal would be immense. Add a good CB and maybe a striker or Clichy replacement and it would be the best summer in years.

I think it'd be without precedent in our history under Wenger if we picked up these players without releasing some of our best.

Think we need this set of combination of players in to really have a chance to win something next season.

Hummels/Subotic/Godin
Vidal/De Rossi
Aguero/Benzema/Higuain
Alvarez/Mata or both if we are letting either Nasri or Shava go
and a LB, any upgrade on Clichy if we are letting him go.

But realistically from those we are linked with, this is the best we can hope from our summer.

Cahill, Vidal, Mata, Alvarez, Gervinho, AOC(optional), Enrique. Presuming we are letting Bendtner, Rosicky, Denilson, Clichy, Squillaci, Almunia.

Cahill. Love mata and like the look of Alvarez but we really need to add power at the back

Clarence, that's a lot of expensive players. At this point, I would take something along the lines of Cahill, Vidal and a forward/winger. There is very little noise around Aguero. I wish we could get him. He'd be excellent as one of our front 3 or playing with RvP up front. Aguero is the type of player we should be bringing in to replace Cesc just to at least keep us as competitive as we were last year

I think if we count the money coming from the players going out + our original transfer kitty, that realistic part of the wishlist is definitely attainable. Maybe take out one of the 3 wide players unless we are offloading Nasri or Arshavin.

Anything other than that and we are looking at the same shit season next year

I prefer Cahill as a player but Jagielka would be my pick.

Jagielka seems like more of a defensive leader whereas Cahill I feel still has some growing to do and maybe we don't have the defensive leader here that we would ideally want next to him.

We must sign Chamberlain as well.

I feel the same about Cahill, he still has to make that step up to a real leader and organiser - I think he has that in him though.

If we signed Cahill I'd still be looking for either him to step it up a level or for Djourou or Kos to oust him within a year or 2. At the moment he just isn't anything like a top level defender.
