or bypass midfield and take advantage of numerical superiority in final third - it's a basic fact that if you're outnumbered in one part of the pitch, you outnumber them in another. we generally have better technical players than the opposition, so getting the ball where it needs to go shouldn't be a problem. as for defending, two well-organised banks of four should be pretty hard to get through, as we know all too well.
