He'd easily have stats similar to or better than Hazard in France. That's not to say he's a better player or a better talent but he's around the same age and is racking up double figures in England. Sometimes I think that people forget how effective Walcott can be because he's been around for so long. As a 23 year old who keeps improving from year to year he'd be a brilliant investment for most clubs. It's not unlikely that he'll add consistency to his game next season.

Had Walcott played in France he would be one of those players fans from Man U, Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal would all dream of their club signing. That is what I think anyway.

We all know what Walcott's shortcomings are. He has end product, to some degree, an we're not in a position to get rid of a player with end product and replace him with someone with almost none.

Theo's biggest problem is his inconsistency. When he's on form he is very good, but that amounts to 5ish games per season. On the other hand when he's out of form he is terrible and usually our worst player on the pitch.

He keeps on improving on his first touch and finishing and he might become very good player for us, but till then he should be regarded as a rotating option, not as an automatic starter.

I like Theo, but I can't stand him as a footballer at times. He can be so so bad on the ball.

pires and ljungberg both played CM earlier in their careers and it showed. they had a great understanding of the game, and it didnt hamper their effectiveness going forward, either. you could never imagine walcott at CM.

walcott is more of a wiltord than a pires or ljungberg. that's fine - we need guys who can get behind and score. we just can't expect walcott to be something that he's not. it's up to wenger to recognise that and utilise walcott appropriately.

I think he's being utilized to the best of his ability right now, the wide forward role suits him.

Walcotts stats are similar to ljungbergs, and would get at least 15 goals in a ligue, and he is improving, he got hyped as a teenager and now that he hasn't become henry people are dissapointed.

Stats aren't everything. Ljungberg was all about hustle to me. Sure, you got a decent amount of goals and assists from him, but his work ethic was second to none. Now there is a guy who took pride in defending well! We could use a couple like him these days.

his combination football was also fantastic. i think a lot of people only remember the 2006 ljungberg, when he was past his best.

the overriding feeling i've gotten from the last few years is a team that is good at creating promising situations, but shockingly wasteful at turning those situations into clear chances, and converting clear chances into goals. there are throughballs that arent delivered, runs that are not made, combinations not played, easy passes not squared for the tap-in. i think saachi said something similar during the milan tie and he's totally right.

He's only 23 and has his half-decade of peak productivity ahead of him.

Although I wouldn't shed too many tears if he left for a decent fee, I'd say if we think he's average now based on performances since he was 18, we should definitely re-sign him because his value is going to rise.

I believe he will be injured less and settle more profoundly into his craft over the next five years.

For comparison Bergy, Ljungberg and Henry moved here at around 26, 21 and 22 years of age respectively. Those guys were in or entering their peak years when they arrived here.

we miss out on kagawa. that's why united win things while we suck every year. and podolski doesnt even count as a signing cos we shouldve signed him last summer. we still need another top player and to dump all our garbage.
