Would be an Arteta type signing. Experienced classy player from the same league. Bayern and Utd have been winning trophies with that formula for decades.

i'd take dempsey if we can sell gervinho, but i don't think that's an option. i'd rather buy someone who instantly becomes our best wide man ahead of podolski. i do realise it's probably debatable whether dempsey is better than podolski.

I'm starting to think we could do with Gourcuff. Just scored a neat goal for Lyon. There were a lot of rumours about us negotiating with him last summer.

Well, a number of posters on here have watched enough of Ajax to know every facet of Vertonghen's game inside and out, so presumably they've had a good look at this Eriksen lad too?

For my part, I've seen him play twice for denmark, youtube and a snippet of his Ajax games here and there. Looks brill to me.

Would rather we buy an experienced DM/CB, M'vila would be just as lost as the rest of our midfielders running around aimlessly. Not sure who, but some one like Mascherano/Demichelis admittedly haven’t seen him play for a while. Someone with enough experience to keep calm when other get caught up in the moment. Another Arteta basically.

Can only see us getting one more 'big' signing if any, would prefer it to be an attacker.

Kagawa & Poldolski and were good.

Didn't Wenger openly admit we tried to loan him towards the end of August last year, but Lyon weren't interested?

I think it had more to do with the ankle injury he suffered which has ruled him out for most of this season. Wiki says he had surgery in July. That's probably when we withdrew interest.

Im getting the feeling that there's another Pires in him. Things are going a bit slow for him in France but the talent is world-class. He just needs a Wenger and an injury free run.
