The 2015 loss didn't piss me off that much as we were already out of the title race.

You make it sound like his substitution was what lost us the game. He started well but wasn't doing anything after the first 25-30 mins, no one was. General

Taking Joel off wrecked our offensive balance and we became predictable. It was a very strange substitution and looked pre determined. He scored the first goal and the tempo of the game suited him. If anyone deserved to come off it was that lamp post of a striker up top but then again Wenger was doing his best to get him to the Euros.

We were already predictable. We didn't do anything of any real note after the goal barring the Giroud chance. It was a frustrating substitution because as you say there were some really bad performances and he was one of the only ones to come out with any credit, but I don't think it had any impact on the game.

General

Sanchez also struck the post if I remember correctly. Him and Joel carried our attacking threat, yet within a few minutes we'd hauled both of them off. At the very worst it would've been a draw but somehow we managed to lose it from an impossible position thanks mostly to the strange subs which completely wrecked the balance.

Bold Tone

In that game Campbell was far and away our best player and still looked the most lively till he got taken off.
Ramsey and Giroud were non-performers for the whole 90 minutes of that match and, with hindsight, should have been pulled.

Very much looking forward to this match, the international break has been boring as fuck. This match is a potential banana skin though.

It was a big factor in us losing attacking impetus. He was everywhere and even as the 2nd half started he created some good openings and then got hauled off for no reason. It was a bizarre sub. He was basically one of the only player with confidence in that match having scored a great goal and wasn't involved in the United debacle.

We should also be looking at bringing in another blockbuster signing in the 24-26year old range in the summer.
