Fair enough, though that's only one result out of many more that went wrong. Then again by big teams I meant teams of similar or superior quality, and I personally wouldn't categorize United of last few years as that considering the gap in the quality between the two teams, despite them constantly still beating us. Talking more along the line of our games against Bayern, or maybe even City. Now if we could only replicate that against Chelsea, things would be grand.

Definitely. He has one position where he does well and its RWF. Move him at all and its a disaster.

I agree with Art too. I'd rather we play it safe here. We've a terrible record against Chelsea and they're solid enough under Conte. Keep it tight and try to nick a win.

It is more important to have defensive stability than play to Theo's strengths. I'm afraid a Monreal/Iwobi pairing willl get torn to shreds and it will be an uphill struggle. Chelsea are very effective attacking down the flanks and Wenger will know. He might just withdraw Ozil to the flanks. We are not good enough to play to our strengths and we have to nullify them or face another loss.

Theo on the lefts not a solution to Monreals problems at all though. Ozil on the flanks wont do much more defending than Iwobi either. There are 3 ways you could help Monreal IMO 1. Play 2 solid mids ie. not Cazorla 2. Put Sanchez on the wing and one of the CFs up top or 3. Play a midfielder on the wing (but Ramseys injured and Wilshere is inexplicably loaned out).

I think Theo will do a better job on the left than Iwobi. It's about experience and awareness. Iwobi lacks a bit here. Also Ramsey on the win is a defensive disaster as he goes on a walkabout and loses his positional discipline. Watch away to Chelsea last season.

Agreed. Theo on the left barely looked like a footballer last season. We know he has a good curling shot (TH style), but apart from that, playing on the left negates all of his strengths and means he has to dribble. You can't play a winger on the 'opposite' side if they can't dribble or play on their weaker foot.

I agree with Art too. I think we press well but the players aren't imposing enough. Cazorla, Ozil, Walcott and even Iwobi aren't physically imposing when they get close. Teams pass around us. I would rather we play like we did last season against Bayern too.

Don't think Chelsea has the width or wide players to really trouble Monreal/Iwobi. Ivahnovic at RB sure as hell won't be doing much and unless Hazard drifts wide who else would be out there?

Utd, Liverpool, Tottenham all winning comfortably. A Wenger milestone in days. We don't generally win big games on weekends like these. Hopefully we can discover our home form which has been a worry for more than just one season now.
