He certainly was a good player who got unfair critisim at times. His stats were good, he murdered the smaller teams. Technique wise he was pure class, and he tore the league up at times with unreal form.
On the down side he sulked around the pitch at times looking depressed, and you wouldnt want him having your back in a tough away game. And he drifts out of games when his form isn't good.
ManU were no they mugs back then, they didn't make him the highest paid player in the league. Instead they sold him to Fulham at 31. And offered him around the year before but couldn't get the price they wanted.
