I dont think Tross will be long term. Probably tweaked something and they though it best not to chance it. And ESR i think was just pulled because he hasnt played in months and 50 mins was enough (he wasnt all that effective anyway, and look what happened when Nelson came on)

I pulled my groin two years ago and can honestly say it was one of the most frustrating injuries I've ever had to get over. It feels completely fine, until it doesn't and you can't run at all. Repeat to fade. Three times I went through that. That Trossard is expected to be back soon suggests it must really be a minor injury.

Thats my sense too on groin injuries. Unless he's completely resting it for a month, it feels like an unknown whether it'll flare up unexpectedly the moment he's back. Where's @speedy ? Closest expert on here.

Anyone else concerned by Eddie's injury? Haven't seen any talk of it on here but I think it's a real shame that we've lost him as soon as Jesus is back. From I've read, he's likely to miss most of the rest of the season (potentially a bit of Arteta spin there but still) and not having that alternative off the bench or an additional option for our frontline is a real blow. Overall, it feels like we're a bit light up top now.

Saka (played all season)
Martinelli (played all season)
Jesus (coming back from a long-term injury)
ESR (coming back from a long-term injury)
Trossard (coming back from injury)

That's five viable options for two squad places with little wiggle room for any further absences (all of whom have some scope to get injured between now and the end of the season).

I don't think we can say Reiss Nelson is not also an option given his contribution over very limited minutes this season.

We are fine. We have 3 players who can play striker.
Only thing I’m worried about is ability to get Saka off at 70 minutes every game

Way things were looking I doubt Eddie would've featured all that much, bless him.

Both full back positions have become an issue I think. White still starts but his performances have now had a lengthy dip which appears to be due to fatigue, or possibly an unknown off field issue (perhaps whatever took him away from the World Cup had another layer we didn't hear about?).

Tomiyasu is a very capable deputy, but a bit rusty. Zinchenko is brittle and our results plummet when he's out.

I agree, my point was more that it'd be helpful to have him as an alternative option off the bench as well as giving Jesus a break (which I'm concerned about given he's just come back from injury).

On the FBs, I feel relatively comfortable with our cover at the moment. The difference between Zinchenko and Tierney can't be overstated in terms of their fit in our setup but I don't think Tierney's deficiencies are so great that we can't overcome them.

I don't think Trossard's injury is particularly significant. We're used to fearing the worst with injuries, but it seems like a fiarly minor niggle. We've more than enough numbers to get through the remainder of the season as things stand without Nketiah.

not good. tomi alone is a bad one, as we don't have a big quality drop when he plays. wilo going down as well would devastate our right side defense

Bring Back Kerrea Gilbert dramatic. It's obviously not ideal, but we've got one game to get through on Sunday, then an international break and after that we only have one midweek game for the rest of the season. It's manageable.
