Look at Enzo Fernandez, he was in the red zone and him and his national team decided it wasn’t worth him playing a meaningless friendly. Gabriel should have done the same. Or we play the game better - do it Ferige style when he never let any serious player play friendlies upon friendlies - he used to take out players like Giggs before every friendly.
Ok, so Ancelotti knew Gab was in the red. Then why play him for 60 mins plus? Play him for a half and take him off or at worst take him off after 60 mins. People forget Gab had major surgery earlier this year, it’s not sustainable for him to play 60 club games PLUS shit friendlies. Ancelotti is a fucking idiot.
How do you know WHEN Gabriel was in the red? Maybe he was in the red after Sunderland like Calafiori? Arteta is here to win the league/CL. No reason to take off Gabriel. It’s not as if he’s playing him in the Carabo Cup. There is a reason not to play/take off Gabriel in a fucking friendly though.
If these things keep happening to our players on international duty esp in friendlies then we have to be way more cut throat and the players need to smarten up or have a career like Tomiasyu.
