Hopefully it gives him some confidence going into the new season. Despite all the things said about his positioning and his role, I reckon the main reason for his erratic form last season was down to confidence.

Does Payet really deserve to be included? He tailed off massively after the first couple of games. Same with Hazard, I think he just about managed 50 minutes of quality across all his games.

Opta's teams are always based on statistical values so it is abit skewed in that sense. One really bad game can bring down your overall ratings. Payet deserved to be included because of his outstanding group stages and QF match.

Uefa's team of the tournament is closer to reality though IMO. I think I will have it something like this in a 3421 and mix it up a little.

Its all rubbish, most of those players weren't playing with the players near to them, eg Portugals goalie had Portugals back four in front of him, may have had something to do with how many clean sheets he kept.

Ronaldo deserves to be there. He didn't dominate games but he was a massive difference maker. 3 goals and 3 assists.
