He was never gonna score that. Running forward with the ball and scoring is equivalent of scoring from the halfway line with two goalkeepers in goal For any other player. Never seen anyone else so awkward with the ball.maybe crouch.

Henry was saying at half time, that if he was in Giroud's position, he would have pulled it back when Howedes went to ground and slotted it in one on one with the keeper. But that it requires composure, which Giroud lacked.

The lack of composure is more evident in his 2nd half chance where he took an age to get his shot away only to hit it tamely at Boateng.

I'd argue that was worse since there's nothing Giroud can do about being slow but he should have done a lot better with the Boateng chance.

Delighted with the French win.
Griezmann has a cool head on him, that penalty was very sweetly taken.
Been impressed all tournament with France's composure, they've been outplayed by teams for spells in games but they have not panicked.
They really do trust that they have the players to score.
Watched this in San Sebastian where they still love Antoine.
Might cross the border for the final, hope that Portugal don't bore their way to the trophy.

I reckon Seville's up there with San Sebastian in terms of European cities that I've been to.
