Reading up on Coleman, he seems to be very savvy in terms of tactics. The formation and general tactics employed against Belgium were also employed vs Israel away during their quals. This involved using two no. 10s - Rambo and Bale both in no. 10 roles simultaneously.
He had actually dropped what they'd done against Belgium in their quals despite getting a good result because the tactics they attempted back then did not actually work out despite the result. The genius tweak was to drop Bale deep - maybe because he's actually better in defensive situations than Rambo. It also meant any Belgians that were in charge of man-marking Bale were only half-useful.
I've liked Coleman before especially during Fulham's Coca-Cola (edit: Intertoto actually) cup run but he's stepped up his game with Wales. If they actually beat Portugal, I'd even consider him for Wenger's job.
