As I've said over and over again on here, let's wait and see who is right.

Mate, you're the one who constantly bigs up Mourinho. You can't fangirl about him and not expect a response.

No need for the mate, it sounds patronising/condescending. No fangirl, I just acknowledge things people would rather ignore. I used to downplay everything, but it became super frustrating when others would win all the time over us winning. I'm too old and been around too long to play the hating-all card. I've morphed from an Arsenal fanboy, to someone who has a more grown up opinion on things such as Jose/United/Spurs/Chelsea among other things.

Klaus is the only person who came back at me with a constructive argument about United/Jose, everyone else posted stupid smileys as if it would move me to anger. I'm unbreakable.

Mourinho also said Rooney was a bit shit in midfield - how does that make you feel Savz?

He said he's not going to be playing as a number 6 or a number 8, not that he's been shit in CM in the last 6 months because he hasn't been. Except for England.

I'm disappointed because even though Rooney was good as a central midfielder, Jose is smart and will move him to the number 10 more than likely which will make United even better, which aint good news for us. So overall It's not good.

Rooney was not good as a central midfielder. Neither the results or his new manager or his performances or the criticism from his own fan base reflect anything other than failure

Rewatch United vs West Ham and then United vs Crystal Palace.

They way he keeps his nerve no matter how much pressure there is on him is a trait that's only found in top top players. Of course though he will be undervalued for club and country, like he had been his whole career.

Seems more like your talk of United and Jose is built on media hype than anything else.

Mourinho is media hype? Enough of this please Qwiss.

Yeah, you're just embassaring yourself now qs.

Sorry buddy, my bad.

I will. But only if you promise to re watch the remaining 39 games

Rooney's never been undervalued by his own fans like he is now. Or his own manager. Maybe, just maybe, they have a point?

Rooney blows hot and cold for long periods. Always has.

He has a great understanding of the game, but sometimes his heads not in it.

I honestly can't understand how any Arsenal supporter would big up Mourinho. Even Chelsea fans hate him after his dig at them saying he is now at a big club. Can't be any more classy if he tried.

We have all seen Jose built expensive compact sides. Push everyones buttons, put some noses out of place and generally get great results until his behaviour causes a mutany after about 2 years. Savs your not going to seen as a clairvoyant for predicting Jose will do well. Hes done well everywhere. The rest of use are hoping he won't. Were arsenal supporters we dont spend our time being Jose supporters.

Savz is like our very own version of Luda2013.

No need for this thread in the off season

Fair play to savz for having a different opinion.

Well I'd have a different opinion if I was posting on a Man Utd forum.

This sums it up for me.

The Mourinho ticket for most clubs has been a great buzz followed by a nasty hangover.

He's had his best results at clubs which already had high-functioning, established squads, when he's had money to spend on route one players, and he's lifted those clubs up the table by making them more ruthless and negative tactically, squeezing points out the hard way as well as raking them in in an eye-catching way.

The pressure he applies and the standard he demands—not to mention the fact he seems to be a massive dickhead and narcissist—become unpopular with some players under his management. Last season he managed to coach a title-winning squad into the lower half of the table because they hated him so intensely.

My analysis is that the Mourinho of the past is a very uneven fit for United in their current state—but they are making some incredible signings now. At the moment I expect them to shoot out of the blocks, after that, unless Mourinho has truly evolved after his Chelsea debacle, it's a question of when the cracks start to appear.
