I think Griezmann is being a little found out. He's struggling facing opponents that are sitting deep and packing the area he plays in. As soon as there is space to play in; a quick counter or players out of position, he comes alive again and looks quality.

Tactics

France should take off both Matuidi and Kante(otherwise gonna pick up a 2nd yellow), and bring on Coman and Cabaye. The latter to help with the build up from the back. They are currently mostly hoofing it and are not providing Giroud enough support to recuperate the 2nd ball. Coman could help provide much needed width as both Payet and Griezmann are playing very central

Yeah, agree with this. Noticed how bad he is when his team is pushing up and on the front foot in the UCL final, and that observation is confirmed in this 4 matches France played here. Completely pointless in this setup, can't take on his man, can't win any duels.

That was also the exact reason many didn't want him here when he was at Real Sociedad.

Hmm looks like Coman is playing central and Payet still out wide. Deschamps is probably thinking Coman's strong dribbling could be best used central to help break down the Irish defence. I'd have played him out wide but let's see how that one pans out

Refereeing standard has been pretty good this tournament - few exceptions aside. Then again it must be easy when most games are played at a rubbish tempo.
