You know that the word rape comes from the French Viol from which the English words "violent" "violence" and "violate" derive from, not a mention of women.

His ex wife testified under oath that he raped her.
Nobody cared enough to hold it against him.
Seems he can get away with anything, and sounds like these sworn statements will never make it to court.
His rabid supporters wouldn't believe them anyway.

I think it was Trump's lawyer who said that ”by the very definition, you can’t rape your spouse” when he was asked to comment on it. And then he threatened the reporter who was asking around about it for good measure.

The perverse thing is back when he said it that was a legally correct claim in Germany and many other "progressive" countries. Took twentyfive fucking years from the first attempt to change the law until 1997 for this country to acknowledge that marital rape is a crime.

It's disgusting for sure, but his lawyer said this last year I think. By that time those disgraceful laws were outdated by 30 years or so in the US.

The law was struck in 1984. The supposed rape of Ivana Trump happened in 1989. Cohen's quotes are from 2015. Amazing people.

I thought they were from when he defended him, that's even worse of course. Well, any decent human being wouldn't have that opinion even when marital rape was legal, if you're letting the law dictate your morals you don't have any to begin with.

Not with me Klaus, I picked up on the reference.

@Burnsy: Disagree with your assessment of Trump's comments btw. That's just an example of Trump's usual schtick of saying the naughty thing to entertain. He's not trying to link anything, I doubt he has any substantial view of TTP at all and the majority of his supporters at these rallies certainly don't. They go there to be entertained and Trump does that by routinely breaking the usual social cues that a substantial portion of America resent. Textbook Trump more than anything else.
