Why would his agent offer him around to top clubs only for him to turn around and decide he wants to stay when one of said clubs shows interest and meets his release clause?

Why would he agree a deal and then mull over whether he wants to join? Surely he would ask LCFC to match or better whatever we offered him rather than agree everything with us THEN consider LCFC's offer, that's with the assumption he TRULY wanted to stay.

And if indeed he really wanted to stay, wouldn't he already make that clear by now? What would be the point of taking his club and fans for a ride?

He has secretly already joined imo. Notice how Arsenal are so quiet and relaxed about it.

Yeah, and conveniently a story was leaked yesterday that he has told his England teammates that he's '80% likely to stay at Leicester', on the same day they bid for Deeney. LCFC leaked that story as a negotiation tactic.

It's all so obvious.

Vardy is a Leicester City legend. He has achieved everything he could ever achieve for them. The next step is surely to join a bigger club with bigger aspirations, players, more money, increased exposure, increased England opportunities, etc.

LCFC's achievement last season is as good as it will ever get for them. Kantè and Mahrez will leave soon. They will go back to midtable next season.

I would be stunned if Vardy is not playing in the red and white next season.

I agree with you JED. It's a non debate, Arsenal is a step up and he should really be taking that next step, especially at 29 years of age. Imagine rejecting the chance to join Arsenal for 4 years at 29.

I agree with Jed, I could imagine Vardy being torn between Arsenal and another established club but it makes no sense to get to this stage and then get second thoughts about wanting to leave Leicester.

Arsenal are always quiet and relaxed.

It's all speculation, I'm just choosing to take things at face value. Vardy wouldn't be the first to have a last min change of heart. And I'm not saying he truly wants to stay, I'm thinking he's having second thoughts, not that hard to imagine Ranieiri and the owners pulling at the heartstrings.

But with the added element of divorcing someone if they don't want to live in a different city. You get the impression with Vardy's wife she's just happy to follow him wherever he ends up.
