Another scepticism I have about Vardy is, unlike Mahrez who showed signs of being a quality player 2 seasons ago, Vardy didn't show any signs of being a top player. He only looked class last season, in a season in which almost all other Leicester players looked class. So if we are signing him on the basis of last season, why aren't we signing, say, Morgan(organiser, leader, great header of the ball etc - all qualities we are looking for in a CB) who looked every bit as good in his position as Vardy did upfront ? Also, how good would Giroud look playing only once a week throughout the season whilst being the main penalty taker in a very efficient team where expectations are low?
I dunno man, I hope we aren't going for him because of the fees being quoted for other strikers on the market, but because we truly believe he's the best striker we could get out there.
