Actually - on genuine grounds - I find having one big mega thread which has a fairly loose narrative to be detrimental to the general discussion. Case in point, the timing and lack of content so far and the inevitable title change by the tenth game of the reason. I don't mind it being open but it should be allowed to die in favour of more varied threads rather than a catch all monstrosity.

I'm not convinced by the Jose appointment yet.

Jose went a bit bonkers at Chelsea and that could be permenant. Van Gaal can't have always been as gone in the head as he appeared this season. Jose might snap back to reality but or he might get worse.

The second reason I'd have some reservations is that team s morale bounces back after a change of styles. If they went for klopp who gives players that energy and flexibility and attacking football I think the players would be on cloud 9 all season. But to go from boring van gaal to years of boring Jose the players might fell like they've just got a kick in the stones.

Agreed. There's something damaged about United right now, and there's something damaged about Jose too. Lots of things can and will go wrong for them.

so now between chelsea and man united that's 4 points out of 12 at best for us next season, sadly even that's an improvement on this past season.

right now i don't see either as title challengers so i see them as bad points dropped. under normal circumstances i'd expect 8points.

If they're not favourites for the league title, they are not the greatest threat.
