I honestly don't care what any player or manager says when assessing these leagues, even if I trusted their judgment I wouldn't trust them to give a truthful statement when their own employer is involved - chances are if Pellegrini goes back to manage in Spain he'll say the opposite in interviews to Spanish media. The likes of Xabi and Silva have all said repeatedly that they rate La Liga higher while others like Cesc have made conflicting statements favouring one over the other and vice versa, their opinions aren't worth much to me.
I watch both leagues pretty regularly and except for the bottom teams where I rate the EPL teams higher the quality in La Liga is overall a lot higher than it is in England.
