Biggus, it does seem like sometimes you're just whinging for whinging sake.

Vidal at 5'11 is hardly a midget. Plus he plays harder than anyone else out there.

It would be amazing if we actually signed this guy. Trying not to get my hopes up too much though.

Height doesn't even come into it, because as I said he plays harder than anyone else. He's also a brilliant header of the ball and has quite the leap on him. Not to mention his strength and stamina.

I share that concern, Biggus, but that's not a reason to turn your nose up to Vidal. Especially since he brings power and the ability to win the ball back in abundance.

Ideally, we'd get in tall players, but if the choice is between quality and height I'll take quality every time.

Also, we scored the most goals from set pieces this season. :hat:

We need both.

An injury to Coquelin and Ramsey and we're fucked, so we definitely need another quality option in midfield. Vidal can replace either.

I don't see many, top class, tall, aerially dominant midfielders at the level we require. I think we should sell a left back and get someone tall there.

Vidal is a class player, but not really what we need imo.

I agree, but if he's available I'd say go for it. He'd give us a lot of options in midfield. He could play instead of Coq when we need more fluency or with Coq when we want to park the bus.

Agreed - unless we change formation to a 4-3-3 with Ozil in the front three, in which case it would be a great signing. For our current 4-2-3-1, we need a better version of Coquelin with height and power, a defensive MF who can partner Ramsey and cover for him on the inevitable occasions when he gets caught ahead of the play. Vidal is overkill for that role - rather spend that on a wing forward who can score goals.
