He has the abiliy to do magic things, you could see it when he was younger first breaking though. He'd pull of the occasianal insane skill. Then as he develops you epect him to take responsibility to make things happen in the game. To vary his play, even Abraham will drop his shoulder one way as he recieves the ball and spin the other with the "drogba turn". you can tell thats something he's practiced endlessly to become effective at. Jovetic has the skill and ability, but lacked the intrest to vary his play and learn to effectivty make space for himself and others. Technique wise he was increadible but wasted it. Hes super esy to defend against the first touch to open his body to shoot, defenders read him like a book.

Fair enough misunderstood your definition of talent. Plenty of players can pull off great skills on the ball, don't consider them talented because of that.

I think Jovetic was first and foremost ruined by injuries. Plenty of players you hear it said about but with Jovetic it's more true than with most others, he looked like an insane 9.5 in the making for Fiorentina ten years ago used to wishlist him back then all the time. Now he's signed with fucking Berlin aged 31.

Jovetic flopped at City before the injuries really destroyed him. Not sure he'd ever have reached the heights some thought.

Not keen on Sanches. He was a flop in England and a flop in Germany, doing well in France after that seems like finding your level to me. He's also very flashy and I don't see where he'd fit this team.

He tore his ACL before moving to City.

Tutto Mercato is garbage, HomeSteak posted the link earlier. Sanches is too injury prone otherwise he could become a success almost anywhere if he develops a bit further. Plenty of players succeed after after moving too early to a big club, he was 18 when Bayern signed him.

Why, don’t you think there are quite a few good PL players who weren't that at 20-21 years old? Hardly an unusual trajectory.

Where would you play him for us Quincy? Doesn't seem like a good Partey partner at all to me.

I'd play him with Partey, but the question was more about why succeeding at 23 should necessarily be finding your level instead of just improving as a player which is usual at that age. Without checking Maddison was probably a Championship player at 20-21, Salah flopped in England, Suarez was at Ajax etc. I'd say that's a far normal development curve than Saka and the likes.

Its not a rule Quincy its my impression of Sanches. I don't think he's matured in the way he plays enough to be a top PL player. No way I'd be spending £35m on him.
