Caquaret is the one to get from Lyon
Definitely but Bruno isn't half bad, compared to some of the more underwhelming CM we are linked with
might as well get neves, and I'm not even a huge fan. don't really want to take a punt on another ligue 1 import at this stage, especially a midfielder

Linked with manU now
He is a good player and definitely a better option than Neves, I don't think he is a game changer though. Caqueret from what I've seen looks one of the top CMs in the making. Lyon aren't financially in a great state so test their resolve. The player we buy to replace Xhaka is the most important signing we make this summer.
I like Caqueret a lot but he's very lightweight, Ligue 1 is physical too but I'm not sure he'd survive the orcs and English refs. Would rather Tchouameni or Kamara who are better equipped physically to make an immediate impact, they might not be as silky on the ball but we'd be rock solid in midfield and both can distribute the ball well.

Tchouameni or Guimaraes would be fantastic.
Just need a CM/AM or both to come in as well.

Haha, literally the opposite of what the DM are saying:

Linked with US youngster Matthew Hoppe.
He came through Schalke's academy and was one of the only bright lights in their dismal 20/21 bundesliga campaign.
Grant Wahl is very reliable when it comes to US football and normally does not chat BS.
I've heard Tchouameni is a beast defensively but what is he like on on the ball? Don't know too much about Kamara. I'm not saying it has to be Caqueret but we need a real big player in the middle for us.
Found this image on reddit comparing the tacking, progressive passing and ball carrying numbers amongst U25 midfielders in the top 5 leagues for 2020/21 season.

Very interesting.
For me it highlights Guimaraes positively. Tchouameni and Caqueret as well.
when did Bennacer become good at defending?
It has always been his strong point being a good tackler.
Hoppe is interesting. Remember him scoring 4 goals last year in one match for hopeless Schalke

He's just brilliant all around. If he weren't so tiny he'd be compared more often to proper two-way players like Vieira.
I have only watched probably 30-40% of the folks on that chart more than once or twice. Having said that, of the ones I have seen, the two I would really love to have here at Arsenal are Anguissa and Neuhaus. I really do think we need someone strong on the dribble - we have lacked that in our midfield for a long time.

Agreed & I've already said earlier I don't understand why there hasn't been more interest in the likes of Anguissa (AFCON?) and Pereira, and I think we can see why we haven't followed up on Bissouma as he doesn't have a strong 2nd string to his bow as a defender.

He's no better than Nketiah, actually I rate him less. If there's a US kid worth chasing I'd be trying to get Musah back from Valencia.

guess I have not been watching enough of him. Always seemed to be the attacking side of the game that's his forte.
