You have to feel a little sorry for Dortmund. The idea of the club as a top candidate was entirely dependent on certain players to stay. They could have been great if they'd kept together as a group. Reus will leave next year, and it's not because he doesn't like them. It's because Götze and Lewandowski and Kagawa are already gone. Hummels will leave too for the same reason. No Dortmund player who's good enough to play for a richer club in a better league extends his contract right now.

Some twitter talk that we are in for Vargas along with Valencia. If we can get him for a reasonable fee and move Podolski on for about the same, would be a great trade. Unfortunately, won't happen though - too many things to get done in 20 days.
