Surely Calvert-Lewin is an upgrade on Lacazette.
Maddison will cost around 70m. If we are willing to spend that much we might as well top up 20m for Sancho.

The Sancho deal all in was 250m last year when manU couldn't get it over the line. It's reported to be a bit cheaper this year but still probably far to expensive for us to consider.

He's the right profile of midfielder we should be targeting though so that is a positive. Hopefully we maintain an interest in a midfielder of that mold when we inevitably fail to land Locatelli and find the next best thing. KnowING our management team however, I'm sure we will pivot to someone very different stylistically and hope they fit on MD1.
It's infuriating that we're only in for him now. Claude was raving about him last summer, the stat breakdown that pegged him down as a potential Vieira replacement was from last August but a year later while he's playing in a tournament where each good performance adds about 5m to his price tag we join the fight.

Yep. Pretty clear we want someone like him, not Bissouma so it's a huge plus. The Brighton journo who broke the White news says Bissouma is our last resort we want someone stylistically very different from him, different kind of midfielder

They probably can’t, but at one point Juventus had over 80 players on their books. They can just open the portfolio for a midtable team like Sassuolo and ask them to pick whomever they want plus £20m
