The Sun thinks it's Llorente from Juve who's the top striker on Arsene's list 😆
Express said same. Not sure if they're related. Could be anyone. Really. The key is for folks to be realistic. We've already 'lost out' on Schniederlin, Vidal and, as if we need reminding, Milner. Wouldn't want to 'miss out' on Benzema as well.
Who are the top ten strikers in the world? Take off the top 6 and pick your favourite among the remaining 4. Good wholesome summer transfer muppetry.

He's not gonna break any records.
Top ten Messi, Ronaldo, Ibra, Suarez, Aguero, Benzema, Tevez, Lewandowski, Cavani, Costa,
My favorite among the remaining four is Tevez.
Giroud in top 20.
Tevez has already moved back to Argentina. I wouldn't have him the top 10 anyway.
I'd prefer Lewandowski to Benzema. Lewandowski is amazing.

He was really good last season though, certainly compared to most 'big names'. Although generally speaking he's been a level below the world class strikers through his career.
Well thats just it, Adebayor has never been one of the 10 best strikers in the world but in 08 he was probably performing as well as the top 5.

Yeah, i agree. At this point he's RM's only striker. Unless something drastic changes that, this deal is a no go.
To be fair, we waited on the Bale and Suarez deals to get us Ozil and Sanchez, so it has paid off in the past but it's unlikely anything will happen before the season starts.

That's irrelevant, I didn't say that we should sign him.

Undisputed top 10 of the world currently.
Top 20 now ... in no particular order: Giroud, Jackson Martinez, Rooney, Lacazette, Aubameyang, Griezmann, Mandzukic, Morata, Falcao, van Persie.
Kane.

The thing about that is there was no summer long Ozil saga. It popped up and happened within a couple of days. The longer these things drag out the less I'm inclined to believe them.

Nah, Gazidis and Madrid both confirmed we were the first club to get in touch and monitor the situation from the get go.
Gazidis, who used to work in the MLS, has known Real Madrid director general Jose Angel Sanchez for more than ten years after striking up contacts when the Spanish club tried to market themselves in the US. Right at the start of the summer, when it was clear that Bale’s move may impact on whether Real Madrid would have to offload players, Arsenal made contact and asked to be kept informed on Ozil, Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria. But Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has always liked Ozil and tried to sign him three years ago before he moved to Real Madrid. Wenger has described him as his “dream player”, small, technical and a player who enjoys being coached and is willing to learn.

Also Ozil and Wenger have had an established relationship since before he moved to Madrid (Ozil said so himself)
The luck bit is such a cop out because the only people who were surprised by it were the press and the fans, therefore it seemed like a one off. But then we did it again with Sanchez.

I think that's just down to how quickly the press get wind of it, with the Ozil deal we were actually quite well positioned according to Gazidis and co. See above.
It's the Sanchez deal that came relatively out of the blue.

I think I'm more on your side of the interpretation of how things went down too. My point is the press and the twitter nobodies hadn't a clue about it.
So I reckon by the time news comes out about Benzema or whatever we've probably moved on.

Oh absolutely, the ITK thing is fun but with massive transfers I bet not even Wenger actually sure about the way things will go until it's on Arsenal.com!
According to El Confidencial/Kike Marin Samper's father offered him to Arsenal, but we're not interested.
I thought Kike said Samper didn't want to come?
