It's still irrelevant, he's gone down a couple of notches, ask anyone who saw him in his best years at Madrid.
Whether or not there's a huge gulf in class is another matter. I've not watch Benzema much this year other than the big games where he's not been particularly impressive (though in fairness, nor have Bale, Ronaldo or James) so I can't really comment, but by most accounts he's had one of his best seasons at Madrid.
