new the thick of it was ok, but didn't feel as sharp as earlier seasons. hopefully this will change once malcolm "the fucker" tucker re-enters the picture.

The SOA opener was a great episode but I just can't get sucked into it properly after the way they fucked up the end of last season so badly.

Got two episodes left of The Killing's first series- the Danish original, (maybe I should have clarified that was what I was watching initially). I've been totally mesmerised by this. Lund, Meyer, Haartman, Bremer, Rie Skovgaard, all brilliant characters.

Theis Birk Laarsen reminds me of Tony Soprano and Frank Sobotka.

Boardwalk Empire Season 3 coming back on Sunday 😃 Rewatching now, will have to cruise through all of Season 2 this weekend. Really excited about it. For me it's the only drama series that can currently compete with Breaking Bad.

I'm with you. Despite the brilliance of Steve Buscemi (and Michael Pitt), we kinda lost interest towards the end of the 2nd series. The fact that I got the Shield boxset around then didn't help, but we haven't gone back since.

George is hilarious - he has all the sophistication and mannerisms of Stavros Flatley, but actually seems able to cook.

I have no fucking idea what's going on with Matt Preston.

I think the public here is supposed to imagine there's a class of people who behave like cut rate versions of Oscar Wilde mincing around somewhere in the motherland. 🙂

Apparently Colombaris's main restaurant in Melbourne is unbelievable, but there are diminishing returns on fine dining I reckon.

(By the way, I haven't watched it since season one. 😉 )

Have no idea how popular it is over here though, it's on Watch, rather than the BBC, so it's probably more of a cult foodie following than a smash hit. I just find the format more interesting, and the production style much more appealing than UK Masterchef.

Just watched me some Masterchef USA last night, even. I hate when the elimination challenges are deserts. Boring. Seriously, who gives a shit about a fruit tart?

Amazingly season 2 of Homeland begins here on 1st October, about 6 hours after it screens in the US! Never heard of NZ getting a show on the same day before. Game of Thrones season 1 has only just begun (3 episodes in) and that is more the norm tbh.

I wasn't gonna watch any Sons of Anarchy after that sharkjump of a century in the last season finale, but I can't say no to Ron Perlman when he's this good. He's incredible in the first episode.

Jax still pisses me off though. It's not even Charlie Hunnam's fault - his acting is solid - but I just can't look past the "say this, do that" mentality that the character is based on. He's got zero redeeming qualities anymore but Sutter still seem to think that he's a good yardstick for morale. I hate that the show revolves around him and his bullshit struggles. And I hate that the writers painted themselves into this corner. There's only one way this show's going and that's downhill. Hopefully Clay will be finished off soon and I won't be tempted to watch it anymore.
