The GoT episode was good but the battles were kinda weak. They kept cutting to random shit and it was confusing as heck. Even with Stannis fighting one guy they kept switching between 50 different camera angles. It was a great episode though, especially the hound scenes 🙂

The battle scenes were piss poor. No scope at all. No sense of how vast Stannis's army was or how many ships he tried to attack with. They tried to cover it with an insane amount of cuts but it just created a sense of lack of continuity. It was great to see a full episode where they didn't alternate between three or four POV characters though. Dinklage had some of his finest moments all season too. He has to be a shoe-in for another Emmy nomination.

i never expect much from large scale battle scenes on tv, but i thought they did ok under the circumstances. i've seen far worse. great moments involving the hound, tyrion, and bronn

Is he going to go in for best actor or best supporting this year though? You could make a pretty strong argument he's been the male lead in this season.

And as great as he is he'll have serious competition in either category this year. I'm hoping Vincent Kartheiser gets some recognition this year in the supporting category as well Aaron Paul and yer man Pitt from Boardwalk. Leads is going to strong as ever with Hamm, Cranston, Lewis, Buscemi, etc

Just watched the episode and I was hoping I'd disagree with this. They really took advantage of the whole "night battle." Very disappointing considering what I had heard about it, but it was overall a good episode. Dinklage is really killing it overall in this season. Was great in the first, but he's seriously become the reason I watch this show anymore. Great stuff.

He's the first name in the credits. I'd give it to him. He's really been fantastic in everything I've seen him in, from Elf to 30 Rock to GoTs.

Dinklage was in the Station Agent wasn't he? Great movie that.

Yeah, terrific film. Thomas McCarthy's done a few masterpieces. It's a real shame he only makes one film every fifth year or so.

About Dinklage, I think he'll get nominated in the lead category too (though you could argue that Game of Thrones doesn't really have any leading actors anymore - it's more of an ensemble cast since Bean left), but I doubt he'll win. Think the Emmy will belong to Cranston like usual with all the shit that's bound to go down in the last season of Breaking Bad. Or possibly Olyphant for the third season of Justified.

Oh man, Breaking Bad's final season is about the only TV I'm genuinely excited about. It's way ahead of the pack.

GoT finale was solid. Sets things up nicely for next season. Overall I'd give the season a 7.5/10. Meandered a bit too much with daenerys, robb, and jon snow, but was offset by the brilliance of dinklage, dance et al.

No I do, just don't think it's as good. I'm a season behind on it though.

Breaking Bad's final 'season' is more like two seasons. They're going to show 8 episodes starting in July then 8 more next Summer i think. They're basically splitting the season into 2 with a very long break.

GoT finale was ok. I've heard that the third book was easily the best book of the series (so far) so the next two seasons should be good. They're going to split the 3rd book into 2 seasons apparently
