Try waiting over a decade for the third chronicles of Thomas Covenant! Although, to be fair, after the second chronicles there was no indication that there would be a third, so I wasn't exactly holding on with bated breath or anything.
It'll be about 20 years between first book to last for me. For some people, those who read the books when they were originally published, it'll be about 36 years from start to finish!
