Honestly don't think it's a bad idea. Or at least act as editors. The last couple of books could really do with the discipline of TV.

So, 'Homeland' season 3 marathon finished. Started off slow, but picked up from episode 5. Ending was little bit surprising, but i applaud them for being bold. Not sure if i want to watch season 4 or where it can actually go now as i hate the Carrie character. It felt very '24'-ish already in season 3 and i have a feeling it can only get worse now.

The ending wasn't bold at all. Its what should have happened at the end of season 2. The thing is series 3 was shit until Brody came into it so I don't know how they'll cope without him now.

Not watched season 3 yet, but the show took a wrong turn when they decided to take a unique concept and show and turn it into 24 at some point in season 2. Bringing Carrie and Brody together as a couple was also a massive mistake. Whoever thought of it needs to be shot.

Well, turns out the last three episodes are the best, most purposeful part of the season anyway. Finale wasn't too bad, but I was still thinking "glad there's only a little bit more of this to wade through" …

The episodes in this season have been too long. A full hour with what feels like at least ten minutes of shitty montage in each one.

I stopped watching three or four episodes into this season. I'm gonna read up a bit on Sons on Wikipedia. If I like what I see I might give it a watch again but I just can't be arsed at the moment. It's the reeking smell of failure that is most depressing. It would have been so easy for that show to become an all-time great. It just needed a show runner with skill and character to match his carefully constructed anti-everything social media personality.

Never thought John Oliver was that brilliant (was much better when he wasn't having to play up to British stereotypes - look at him with the Republican Senator in the vid) but he deserved this. Hopefully they get another English guy on the Daily Show!

Watched the first ep of The Returned (Les Revenants - French thing) last night. Seems excellent so far: good premise, good control of the drama.

Cast are possibly a little too French? 🙂 Not sure if anyone a long way from France would be allowed to get away with Frederic Pierrot's pseudo-rugged tufty baldness.
