Refereeing in this tournament is one of the high points though, quality's been very good. The Russian referee in particular who spotted the infringement yesterday for Iceland and similarly gave a penalty for Romania has been the most impressive IMO.

Not sure why but all these high foot in penalty boxes are never given when it is clear as day it is a penalty.

Same with all the grappling and shirt pulling, just because it's in the area refs are probably scared they'll make a decision that will change the game.

I can understand a little bit of shirt pulling is missed or ignored but when a high foot goes in there is no consistency. We went out the CL a few years ago because van Persie was red carded for a far more careful high foot yet we see yesterdays high foot and its not even a penalty.

This is such a weird group now. The winner will face Spain in the killer bracket, the runner up play fucking Hungary in the weak bracket.

Ireland can win this. Italy are not really playing with the game being pointless for them. Would have expected the fringe players to be playing for their place but they're just on the field because they have to be.
