Highly unscientific estimation, sure, but I lurked around a Leicester forum a bit last season for betting reasons and there weren't many people who were happy with Mahrez's performances during the run-in. Which I felt echoed my own opinion about how he played. The ones who really made things happen during the final months were Vardy, Kante and Okazaki. And then Ulloa stepped up in a massive way when Vardy got suspended.

Either way it doesn't matter. Mahrez is clearly a good player and an improvement on what we have on current evidence. I just don't think the disappearing act is something new. He scored a goal today too after all, despite people thinking he looked slow and indifferent.
