@ Willie. WTF are you on about??
The Invincibles was 12 years ago!!!
That's ancient history as far as football is conserned.
You feel betrayed by Wenger just like the rest of us but you still love him and can't stand me criticising him, but we all know he is responsible for the situation not me so that makes it quite pathetic some people insist on making every thread about me even when it's not me who mentions Wenger first.
I have come to symbolise all that hurts them just because I'm usually the one that keeps pointing it out.
You're shooting at the messenger just because you don't want to hear the message.
@ Invis, sorry that you are going through a bad time of your life and the team seems to add insult to injury, I went through a similar time and this too will pass.
Biggus, I only brought this up as like you said, you would envy Leicester fans for winning one league title and that they are lions and that if you would love one day as a lion instead of a lifetime as a sheep. That's some very cliched propaganda that's untrue in the situation considering if it were true, under Wenger we had plenty of lion moments.
Anyways, like I have said they enough times, Wenger has made plenty of mistakes, and has let us down time and again in recent years. I want him gone whether we win the league this season or not (I still believe we will do it by the way but I have digressed). Still though, you go on too far trying to ram your "I was right" spiel down everyone's throat (most of us agree with the main sentiment) and end up talking as if this guy has done nothing for the club and that all his achievements amount to nothing.
Some of the things you call him are downright disgraceful and show a complete lack of respect for someone who's done so much for our club. It's one thing being done with him and hoping we part ways after acknowledging the last however many years was not good enough. It's a completely different thing actively despising the man to such an extent you actually take pleasure in our demise just to have more ammo fire at him. For someone who grew up through some of the most barren years of our clubs history I would have expected better from you. In your day we've had managers who didn't win even a fraction of what Wenger has won but I'm sure you respected them all. Wenger in a way is a victim of his own success. He took a team languishing in midtable to one competing for and winning the title on numerous occasions.
His time should be done but it shouldn't erase all the good he's done to get us to the position we are in. Any manager who follows him will have a much better chance of success due to the foundation he built for the club. The players, the stadium, our great financial strength, our global commercial following. It's just unfortunate he doesn't seem to be taking advantage of all this himself. He has handicapped himself time and again and it's sad to see because there is still a great manager in there. He's just to rigid in his beliefs to compromise and change with the times, and that's what's holding him back. For that reason he must go because despite having had ample opportunities, he has shown he isn't willing to change. I wish he can win the league this year then announce his retirement and go out on a high.
