That's what I thought.
In terms of charity, I prefer to do community based work with local kids. I do football with a good group for a couple of hours most weeks; would like them to form a team but only a few of them have the commitment. I also alternate with a friend on an afterschool club for primary school kids, he does science and I do creative writing and independent thinking (which pretty much translates to organised play). It's just one session a fortnight, so is manageable.
Am hoping to run a saturday morning summer school this year but finding a venue is proving to be difficult; had the perfect one lined up but I dithered and there has now been another offer from someone closely linked to the establishment so can see it falling through.
The rest of the time, I go around 'helping' old ladies...
