You can't see his face but just judging by body language he doesn't look very happy, no reaction whatsoever to the goal. I know it's pre-season and nobody gives a shit about goals, but you'd expect a bit of joy for your international teammate scoring on his debut.

I thought we were very static ahead of the ball in the 1st half and we kept on looking to go central to try to pass through the top of the area.
I thought we looked a lot better in the 2nd half trying to take the ball past the defender and attack the byline, and Lacazette's goal came from such a move with the defenders facing their goal.
Also note that Lacazette tracked back to win the ball deep in our half and then took the ball forward on a counter.
A handful of senior players have a lot of ground to make up on first showing.

How did Joe Willock do in CM? I fancy him to be quite good there (it's his only hope of making it here because he doesn't have enough to his game as a forward). He's also got a chance in that position imo in a physical sense because he's now 6 foot at least and filled out quite a bit in the second half of last season. I've always liked his all-round tehncial ability.

Good rather than brilliant but, then again, nobody was.
Willock had one good Diaby-like burst into the box but snatched at his shot instead of picking his spot.
The youth team players were all much sharper than the regulars.
e: Even Bramall looked good on the left but the opposition was low quality it has to be said.

Bramall looked lively but got some real simple passes wrong, to the point where you actually wonder who he was trying to pass back to. He looked like a less refined version of Gibbs.

all in all.. doesnt sound that bad for a warm up game.. some good, some bad.. to be expected at this point

Thought that was Niles. Only recall Elneny making one bad pass that led to their chance late on.

Willock was really good surprisingly. Calm, composed and had a great run in the first half.

😆 good definition and i have doubts he will make it here.
Another Walcott project if we persist.
It, however, was refreshing to see a left-sided player actually attempt to go outside.
