Casillas 😆 Ivanovic 😆  Alonso 😆 Bale 😆 Rooney 😆

No Özil is just wrong.

These lists are always really weird. No Ozil yet Rooney gets on. Giroud has been better than Rooney this year FFS.

It's hard to find players that haven't been better than Rooney.

It's like if they made an NBA team of the season so far and selected Kobe.

He's been incredibly poor. I read a thread on Red cafe the other day where the overwhelming majority thought that Rooney is the worst player in their squad at the moment. And not from a wages-vs-contribution perspective; they just thought he was flat down fucking useless. He has scored 10 league goals in 2015, and only 2 of them are from this season.

He's one of the worst starting strikers in the league Rooney is. Reckon only Villa (Gestede), Sunderland (Defoe) and possibly Norwich (Jerome) have a weaker starting striker than Wayne Rooney lining up most weeks. Heck of those three I'd say only Gestede is definitely worse and even he can be a more of a handful with the right service. Rooney just doesn't look like scoring AT ALL. It's amazing how horribly poor he has been.

It's a difficult situation for van Gaal with Rooney I would think. You have the team captain who is on massive wages, and he is still only 29 or 30. Man U had this glorious chance to flog him to Chelsea 18 months ago, when he was already in decline, and they passed that opportunity up. It would have been even worse for Moron right now had that transfer gone through too... 🙂

We might have had the chance to sign Costa though if they had let Rooney go

Moyes giving Rooney that 5-year, £300k/week contract was an unbelievable blunder.

The United fans seem to think it was worse than coaching them to an 7th place finish a year after they won the league.

Rooney looks like someone who would have played for Queens Park Rangers right now if he wasn't on that ridiculous contract. Doesn't look like he belongs in Premier League at all, and it's not a recent thing either. Has he had one decent season since they signed van Persie?

As if it was Moyes choice.

MNF team of the year so far. Can't really argue with that, glad to see our fullbacks being recognised finally.

Overall a surprisingly sane selection this year, but there's no way Bellerin has been the best rightback in the league, or that Alderweireld is more deserving than Kos in the defence.

If it's about performances then arguably Alderwereld is worth his place there over Kos. In fact you could argue Kos over Smalling better than over Alderwereld. Coquelin woulda been there easy had he not got crocked.

Sanchez shouldn't be in the team of the year for me, put Oghalo or Lukaku in there and shift Vardy to the wing

Its only sane because the public voted out the crazy choices for them

Bellerin has been pretty poor since he came back from injury but he is still the best in the league. Can't think of anyone else really.

Neuer
Alves-Ramos-Silva-Marcelo
Modric-Iniesta-Pogba
Messi-Ronaldo-Neymar

Alaba and Özil should definitely be there ahead of Marcelo and Modric, but the real joke comes here:

Toure 12th 😆 Hazad 8th 😆 Rakitic last 😆
