hello. lets do our own voting for this year's ballon d'or. the real voting works like this:

first place = 5 points
second place = 3 points
third place = 1 point

i'd like to expand it instead and allow people to rank 5 players. so this is the scoring

first place = 10 points
second place = 7 points
third place = 5 points
fourth place = 3 points
fifth place = 1 point

i will tally it up and create the matrix. if you would be so kind as to copy/paste this template and then input your responses, id be very appreciative

here is the "shortlist". It would make my job a lot easier if you could use the full first and last name and spell it correctly (you can even copy/paste from the below list!) it will make it easier for me to tabulate.

have fun! lets say the cutoff for voting will be november 30th, which is when the short shortlist (top 3) is announced.

Sergio Aguero
Gareth Bale
Karim Benzema
Cristiano Ronaldo
Kevin De Bruyne
Eden Hazard
Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Andres Iniesta
Toni Kroos
Robert Lewandowski
Javier Mascherano
Lionel Messi
Thomas Muller
Manuel Neuer
Neymar
Paul Pogba
Ivan Rakitic
Arjen Robben
James Rodriguez
Alexis Sanchez
Luis Suarez
Yaya Toure
Arturo Vidal

01 - Neymar
02 - Lionel Messi
03 - Cristiano Ronaldo
04 - Sergio Aguero
05 - Robert Lewandowski

Such an in-bred list. Where the hell are the players from PSG and lesser Spanish and Italian clubs? The problem with these awards is they're not decided by people who are football perverts that sit around watching 40 hours of football a week. That list is lazy. Yaya, James, Kroos, Iniesta, Bale and Benzema are not shortlist material this year. And hasn't Robben, for all his talents, been injured much of this year? Thanks, anyway, MD

What has Lewandowski really done to warrant being in the top 5 other than score 5 in 9 mins?

Ronaldo
No one else stands out.

I never keep up with these things, so I have to ask if this is based on last season or the calendar year of 2015?

01 - Neymar
02 - Lionel Messi
03 - Hector Bellerin
04 - Cristiano Ronaldo
05 - Luis Suarez

Has to be calendar year. If so, it is baffling that anyone can have any other player than Messi and Ronaldo in their top 2. For 2015 Ronaldo has 45 goals and 12 assists in 49 appearances, and Messi has 45 goals and 23 assists in 53 appearances. No other player comes even close to matching that.

01- Messi
02- Ronaldo
03- Neymar
04- Aguero
05- Tevez

Ronaldo has been quite bad this season, which will be half the calendar year if he keeps going like this.

  1. Messi
  2. Neymar
  3. Ronaldo
  4. Suarez
  5. I don't know.. Lewandowski, I guess. (But actually Özil)

I genuinely don't understand how anyone can have watched both Ronaldo and Neymar play in 2015 and think that Cris is better. Have you seen much of them Rex?

And I don't have Neymar's stats but they won't be far off that. He's also become the first player to score in both legs of the Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and Final of the Champions League.

I've seen them both extensively this season, and Neymar has been by far the better player. I also recognize the team feats Neymar has managed in the calendar year. I don't think the months in this season make up for Ronaldo's second half of last season though, because that was pretty damn good.
For next year's award I would think Neymar has surpassed Ronaldo, possibly Messi too, but not for 2015. My two cents on the topic.

Neymar has scored 42 compared to Ronaldo's 45, so I don't really see Rex's point either.

He has? I tried looking for that, but I couldn't find anything ready made so I didn't bother. 🙂

I also think Neymar's had more assists as well so...where's your god now?

Sanchez over Ozil in 2015?

Özil is not part of the shortlist
