He's really unlucky imo. Gets big decision right, sends off wrong player. He gets like most of the games spot on, then 1 or 2 huge decisions in huge match that are 50 50 wrong which is then on all the back pages and his reputation suffers more than other refs.

I actually don't think there are many really good refs in football, no. It's not all their fault though; there is technology available to aid them, but the dinosaurs in charge of football refuse to help them. That doesn't let refs off the hook completely though, because most of them range from really poor to decent at best, even with the current rules.

Being a ref is hard a bit like being a keeper, you can have a good game but make one fuck up and you're the worst.

Yeah that's bullshit.

What is an example of a good ref if you can't name one and you don't know any different.
