Why would you take out the biggest advantage MSN has on the Brazil front three when comparing them?

Yeah, no doubt about it. Poor comparison anyway as Rivaldo was much more of a creator than a pure forward like Suárez is.

Rivaldo for some reason is always overlooked when it comes to the greats of the 90s, maybe because of that embarrassing dive vs Turkey. During his peak at Barcelona he's probably the closest thing to the trequartista Ronaldo at Inter.

MSN still edges it for me. The other two Brazilians are better than the Suárez and Neymar but for me Messi alone makes the difference. You could use him as a pure deeplying playmaker and he'd still win titles left and right with whatever team you'd put him in.

Hands down MSN for me. The brazilian trio was hardly free scoring and MSN has done it for 2 consecutive seasons now breaking every sort of record imaginable. The chemistry MSN has is perfect, as evident by their first goal against us which was really all down to Suarez's movement.

The Brazilian trio did not play for each other enough so i favour the 3 amigos.
I got the feeling Rivaldo resented the fact that Ronaldo kept getting the plaudits despite, arguably, being the better player at the time.
Rivaldo ignored most Ronaldo runs which would have guaranteed an effort on goal, at the very least, instead making extra turn and twist to dribble the same player 3 times to win a corner or throw-in. That they ended up winning the tournament meant this analysis was ignored but i thought the Ro-Ro chemistry would have elevated the team's performances. Ronaldinho, in 02, was a pup who was peripheral to the main action.

I was talking about the peak version of each player by the way. If we're taking into account the form the respective players were in in 2002 then it's clearly MSN. Ronaldo's peak started in the second half of the 90s and had its apex during his first season with Inter, Rivaldo's started around 2000 and Ronaldinho's not until much later.

I think you do need to say as all 6 have amazing talent.

Suarez is one of the sharpest/tenacious strikers in history.

That's why MSN is better. Obviously you need to compare MSN with the best version of the Brazil front three that we saw, not some fairytale that would've been best if it existed.

For example, nobody ever uses Henry at his peak to say that Henry - Eto'o - Messi was the best frontline.

I liked Henry-Eto'o-Messi more though - granted I'm slightly biased because of Henry but Eto'o was class on his own. I think they scored 100 goals between them as well.

The point was that you can't use 2004 Henry when describing that front three.

That's the only front 3 that can come close to MSN as far as I am concerned.

As a unit, of course Messi, Neymar and McRacist are better. It is never going to be a fair comparison anyway when you measure a club trio which gets to train together every day to an international trio which gets together for a few weeks every year.
Individually though when you compare Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Messi, Neymar and Suarez, then I'd easily have Neymar and Suarez dead last, and by some distance too. Suarez will never get to that level, but I suspect Neymar eventually will.

I get your point but to some extent there's always some fairytale element involved when comparing players from different times, maybe not as much with the players we're comparing here but in general. There's no doubt about Maradona being one of the best players ever but due to progress in training regimes, nutrition and regeneration practices he would've been just a highly talented maverick and not an ATG if he was playing today.

What I look for when making that comparison is how far ahead of his peers the player is. Maradona was just as superior as Messi is today IMO.
