nice one. if theres one suggestion i'd make its to keep paying close attention even when the story is ostensibly treading water or losing focus. so many little details pay off in the long run

I'm only on episode 3 and it's interesting rather than gripping so far but Westworld makes me nervous, feel like it's going to let me down at any moment, looks like that's not the case.

It's really great. Some have complained that it's "style over substance", but I don't see it at all. Shows like this one inevitably gets some critics, but I think they've done a very good job of living up to the hype.

I think Westworld is very solid. Its not perfect and probably wont be for everyone but its definitely one of the better hour long shows on at the moment.

I liked the first episode of Westworld (that acoustic cover of Paint it Black was genius), thought the second was okay and never watched the third. I'm not sure exactly why I stopped but I've felt zero interest to pick it up again despite scifi being my big weakness. Maybe it's just something inherent to everything Nolan does that subconsciously rubs me the wrong way. I'm glad to hear that it keeps improving either way. I'll probably binge the rest of the episodes once it's done.

I'd try to get past that Klaus as its more of a Jonathan project than Chris and he managed to do some really cool things with Person of Interest even though it started off as a CBS procedural with a sci-fi twist.

It's really, really good. I watched the first Wolf Creek film when it came out and liked it, but the show is on a wholly different level. It's strange, violent and compelling for all the right reasons, and the two leads are killing it. It's full of evocative imagery and beautiful, boundless scenery that was filmed on spot in the northern territory.

We're watching Victoria and The Crown at the moment. Having great fun observing my wife and daughters getting confused between time periods. They got it sorted now - "was that a Dr Who show or a Clara show?"

Re "The Crown" I was a bit nervous about John Lithgow as Churchill but he's great, as is Matt Smith as Prince Phillip and Alex Jennings as Edward VIII. Not sure if there is a spot of revisionism going on but the abdicating former king is portrayed in quite a sympathetic light. The Crown really was the most important thing, and once he gave it up he was no one. Claire Foy has probably the least interesting material to work with as young Elizabeth but puts in a very convincing performance too.

In Victoria I kept wanting to punch young Albert - he's a right romantic poet, but now that he's friends with the gruff northerner Robert Peel and they like riding trains together I am warming to him.

I started watching Wayward Pines the other day. I think it just blew my mind. I did not see this coming.

I'm not feeling it...three episodes in and I find it tedious and the character development not that interesting despite the unique look at what prison can accomplish.

Binged on Westworld yesterday (I think it's the best way to really get into to show like this) up to Episode 8, it's won me over. Still feels like it could all go very wrong though.

Saw the finale today. It has its flaws, but it definitely doesn't go very wrong.

the finale was great. there are still some niggling logical flaws which stick out even more for a show that does so many clever things, but overall it was a very impressive season

I really enjoyed Westworld. I think some people are really harsh on it because they expected prestige drama but HBO doesn't do prestige drama any more, they do big budget popcorn movies in TV form. Thats Game of Thrones and thats Westworld. It leaves them a bit hollow and waiting on the big reveals and set pieces but usually at least the big set pieces are quite satisfying.
