I think Better Call Saul is the best thing on TV. Slow pace, character driven, really good writing. I prefer it to Breaking Bad.

It's amazing. One of the best things they did this season was giving Kim a bigger role.

oh fuck that's right. 😆 .Forgot about that. Personally I prefer the mission impossibles to the silence of the lambs...i get my fill of human nature shit in everyday life.

Just felt a bit predictable to me at times. I like the character driven nature of the show but you'd like to see a bit more depth to the story too. The bit with David and Main went down exactly the way you'd expect for example.

Better Call Saul is also the first TV show I've seen that somewhat accurately depicts how things work in a corporate law firm.

Actually, I take it back. Those are only popular with the stay at home women, not one male I know can stand watching 5 minutes of them.

Just finished watching the girlfriend experience. What a horribly repugnant, repulsive, reprehensible main character.

I don't think the majority do at all. And I think generally a slower pace is worse. It takes much better writing to make a good slow show/film though. So BCS, Rectify, etc end up being great. That said there do seem to be a few people who think everything with a slow pace is better even if the actual quality of the show/film in question isn't good at all. I think because maybe some of the best things have that slow pace thats what they associate with quality.

Actually I don't think BCS is slow at all, every episode seems to zip by. Its just got different stakes to a lot of other programs.

It zips by because the beautiful camera shots and punchy dialogue makes it an enjoyable watch, but we're two seasons in now and not much have really happened to Saul or Mike in that time. I'd certainly call the show slow paced. Much more so than Breaking Bad.

Well plenty has happened to them but as I said maybe the stakes aren't as high as people are used to. Although in Mikes storyline the stakes are plenty high, just a lot of the tension is removed because you know where he ends up.

True, it could be pretty generic "Alien Nation" type stuff, but trust me, any show with an 80% indigenous cast and an international backer is original. 🙂

Better Call Saul season finale spoilers and leaks/speculation regarding next season:

So if you didn't know last week on reddit someone pointed out the first letters of the ten episode titles this season spelled out FRINGSBACK = (Gustavo) Fring's back. One of the showrunners all but confirmed that because of this hitting the web Gus had been cut out of the finale. The note on Mike's car was more than likely from him. Either way we can expect Gus to be a major character in the show starting next season.

I didn't feel like the finale was one of the stronger episodes of the season, the first and last scenes I had problems with, but the show overall is really good and the next season should be gang busters.
