What's the deal with Fargo? Are either the film or the TV series actually based on a true story?

It seems like the characters are more similar than the plot, which is very different.

Either way it's great viewing. Doesn't make the citizens Minnesota look particularly bright though 😆

It's all made up, just like the town demography with its fake-Scandinavian descendants. The Coens laugh themselves to sleep every night over the confusion.

I don't even care about the connections between the characters from series to series, I just love the look, the style, the dialogue, the music.

I liked the little cameo appearance from Key and Peele.

My mate got into Fargo mostly because he usually works a high end summer camp in Bemidji. 🙂

Honestly I could print screen most of the shots and hang them on my wall. It's like a Wes Anderson movie.

Nah, it's not perfectly frontal and symmetric. Wes would've binned it at the storyboard stage.

Fargo is brilliant. Just my kind of twisted, and I think this season is almost as good as the first one. No character quite as good as Lorne Malvo, but still some pretty damn good ones. Kirsten Dunst is brilliant, and Jesse Plemons having his own little mini Breaking Bad story line. The dialogue is brilliant as well I think, and it is beautifully shot throughout.

I've stopped watching this season of Fargo. Same thing happened in series one and I enjoyed much more later on when the hype had died down. I like the show but the way people rave about it doesn't match up with my experience watching it so it ends up sort of diminishing it for me. Gonna wait till its all over and then marathon the last 4 or 5 episodes.

I've sort of done that. Started watching this week thinking the season was over, but it turns out the finale is still to come. I'm in the middle of episode 8 now.

Fargo's been brilliant I think.

Finished season one of The Leftovers yesterday. Literally left speechless by moments in the final couple of episodes.

As i was by the new episode of Luther, but for very different reasons. Idris Elba covers up a whole litany of sins there.

I didn't like the disjointed Fargo finale, but episode 9 was pretty amazing. Gonna be annoyed if Kirsten Dunst doesn't pick up an Emmy for her work this season.

Still got the finale to come.

Wasn't overly keen on the overly stupid cop who didn't listen to Lou, but the "It's just a flying saucer!" line more than made up for him. One of the best lines of dialogue I've heard for such a long time.

I've mentioned The Leftovers a couple of times, but no nibbles, am I just really behind everyone or do I just like it more than you all do?

Speaking of finale, I quite liked the finale of Agents of SHIELD, except for the very last thing.

I finished mad men a few days ago, excellent series and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I'm watching the peaky blinders now, which has started off brilliantly.

That was a great episode. Only mid-season finale, though. S.H.I.E.L.D, that is.
