You seem to be objecting to the fact that the club claim to only to sign 'top players'. Well, obviously, what do you expect them to say? When your kid goes to school, I bet they tell you it's the best school around that takes in the finest pupils in the area rather than remind you that, in fact, some of the kids aren't actually that bright.
And yes, after the end of the transfer window, we'll be told that the manager is happy with the squad - because once the window closes there's really nothing anyone can do anyway. Obviously Wenger will talk up his team. in his entire time and the club he's hardly even been willing to publically criticise his players after a bad performance - never mind throw his entire squad under the bus.
But in truth, the club sign players across all level of abilities and potential. You think Gabriel, Chambers, Debuchy and Welbeck were signed because they were elite players? They all were bought in for different reasons and different purposes and I think it's reasonable to assume that not all of them were first choice options. I think ILYAW made a good point about the club not being willing to sign players in the 20m-30m range because that's where a lot of the 'good, but not great' players seem to sit but other than that we're certainly not being elitist about the players we sign.
Lastly, you don't have a clue who is or isn't a realistic signing or whether a player is worth wasting time pursuing. So let's not even go down that route.
I bet you tell fans off for singing 'We're by far the greatest team, the world has ever seen' because it's 'elitist BS' as well.
You need to roll up a joint like Rex and relax.
