I'm still hoping we've been trying to broker a deal with Bayern for the last few weeks. He'd be well worth it.

At this stage anyone world class will be worth it.

Well, Wenger did say, he is looking to bring in exceptional quality, in any area.

Holy shit Bayern looked good (from highlights).

Some unreal pace out wide and a willingness to exploit that space really shows up our width/wide tactics.

Ridiculous. I had no idea he was this good.

It's also made Bayern less tippy tappy.

Not looking forward to playing them!

Why avoid the teams that make the CL great?

Everyone is desperate to play in the champions league but then they want to play against the worst opposition possible.

It's all about testing yourself against the best.

Because every time we play the best, we lose 4-0.

Actually, we usually lose on aggregate or by just the one goal...

No such thing as aggregate in the group stages Rex

But we should treat it as such as "practice" when we play Bayern.

🙂 🙂  Often our very problem is that we are treating the game like a practice or training session. Remember Monaco [but, yes, I know what you meant]

Doesn't make a difference.

fekir looked really handy with his hattrick yesterday. declared for france now as well i believe. they've got a quality player there.

He's like Götze minus the cuntiness. More explosive too.

Scottish football seems pretty good but where are the crowds?

Is the title of that vid really accurate? If all those gorgeous goals were just from last month, then I'm thinking I need to watch more Scottish football!

Interesting.

What current squads around Europe cost to assemble, in euros:

Tottenham sold most of the players they bought with the Bale money. $80 Million worth players have been erased from their squad, isn't it?

I am not watching but Ramsey apparently is having a poor game against Cyprus as per BBC. He has given the ball away more than any player in the first 45 and is struggling with his ball control.

He needs to find his optimum technical level soon.

I'm keeping half an eye on it, he ended a great move with an awful first touch in the first half I noted.

It's not surprising given his form. Hopefully he gets it together soon.

That header from Bale is fantastic. What a bullet.

Wales is really a 2 man team.

That chart on the previous page - why is that interesting? It has us pretty much where we are in the European pecking order IMO.

It isn't necessarily interesting from an Arsenal perspective, I just thought it was interesting to see how smart or wasteful certain clubs are with their money. It also highlights the premiership's financial dominance in European football.

Different conditions for different leagues and countries though. German clubs, for instance, have benefited massively from the boom in domestic talent since they restructured the system (although that is bound to end soon; Bayern have essentially destroyed Bundesliga again). Everything's more expensive when it comes to football in England, and even more so when it comes to London.

ramsey was below par from what i saw against cyprus. he really looks like he's having to think hard about all his touches, taking 2-3 more at times to be sure. it's a big worry that his technique is so rocky at this point in his career. wenger said he needed to concentrate on the fundamentals of being a midfielder, which did lead to his best form in an arsenal shirt, but then he moves him wide right and tells him to get into the box as often as possible. strong logic.

Mino Raiola was interviewed in a Swedish newspaper today. They asked him if it was true that Arsenal wanted Zlatan Ibrahimovic, like The Sun had claimed, and this was his response:

"No, that was complete bullshit. That rumour came from the people who make The Sun. I've always said that various newspapers have different uses. The only use for The Sun is to wipe your windshield with it. And that's me being nice - five years ago I would have said that it's only good for wiping your ass with."

Love Raiola, complete dickhead but he's highly entertaining.

Agree with banduan regarding Ramsey, Wenger is fucking a lot of things up but Ramsey's poor form is mostly down to himself. Also agree that he'll be back soon enough.

I watched it as well, it was no difference from how he usually plays for us when he is poor. The only difference is that Wales don't have enough top class players around him to bail his mistakes out.

Bale and Ashley Williams?   :hmm:

Hennessy, Williams, Rambo, Bale, Gunter, Taylor are all decent players.

Joe Allen as well.

Welsh Xavi, I believe he was once called.

UAE won 10-0 against Malaysia yesterday. This man had a hand in all 10 goals.

Some of his touches are just incredible. Definitely the most talented player ever to come out of Asia.

Ozil very good today against Poland, as was Gotze who amazingly stayed at Bayern.

A big offer for Gotze and Bayern would definitely sell. Wenger says there aren't players on the market that would improve us. Crazy.

Fekir has done his cruciate ligament. Sad news, he had started the season on fire.

Abdulrahman is 23 years old. Would be interesting to see him in a better league.

I'm a little miffed the Germans played Mesut!

Watching England v San Marino, Shelvy actually looks a very decent player now. Milner next to him on the other hand is getting dispossessed or his passes intercepted almost every time he gets the ball, by guys who have day jobs. Clyne also looks so amaturish when he plays for England.

Walcott scores with his first touch of the match.

I've never seen a winger who makes themselves less available for the full-back than Theo. 😆

Two good finishes here though.
