Arsene Wenger is monitoring Villarreal striker Gerard Moreno as a surprise summer target

Arsenal scouts have been watching the 23-year-old, who has scored 16 times for his Spanish club this season.

Villarreal are keen to tie down Moreno to a new contract as he has only a year left on his current deal and there is a ยฃ3million buy-out clause.

Arsenal have yet to make a move, but Moreno is on their radar as being cheap and showing big potential.

Vietto's older less prolific striker partner with 7 goals in La Liga

Thought we were getting linked to Stevie G for a moment there.

Is this Gerard another one of these fucking Brazilians who use English first names as their nicknames like Fred and Jo, because I don't like that.

Would be crazy if we get stuck with this guy and Vietto goes to Atletico. I know they have had a couple of better years than us recently, but still...can't imagine they have more pulling power than us.

His records not that poor - 7 goals in 19 league games as starter & 16 in 32 for the season overall,

Vietto has the better record in the league but is only 18 in 42 for the season overall.

My bigger concern is that Moreno's only identified strength is his passing, which is not what I want from a 23 year old CF.

For once whoscored is correct. Moreno is a midfielder that has been converted to a CF recently, not what we need at all.
