Alexis.. So calm.

That was no panenka, that was just a blatant troll down the middle.
Sanchez is the real deal isn't he? Potentially one of top 5 players in world football. Not because of his ability, just the sheer balls to take the last penalty like that, at home, to win your country's first major int. trophy. Ever.
higuain is such a loser. dont want him anywhere near our club
Wtf there's another Copa America next year - will someone give Sanchez a summer off ffs.

I said a while back that I think he's more talented than Suarez, and I still think that's the case. Wenger will make him unplayable.
If we end up in a penalty shootout in the CL next season, we'll definitely win it.

It's unreal, during the match I was looking at wikipedia trying to work out how often the copa America is played. It isn't like a normal tournament where it's every X number of years. If you look at the dates of previous tournaments there is no system whatsoever, it's complete chaos They seem to organize it whenever they feel like it.
I'm certain he hasn't even reached his peak yet. Need to fill him up with horse tranq for a few days, can see him trying to swim back home tomorrow in the morning otherwise.

Not just with the years, but also with the teams. Japan has participated before for some reason, and they asked Spain (who declined) to join in the 2011 tournament.

This is why Wenger is so peeved about it, as well as the new season schedule starting earlier.

They always invite two teams to make up numbers. There are only twelve sovereign countries in South America and Guyana and Suriname aren't part of CONMEBOL.

Yeah, and Jamaica this year. It all seems a bit nuts
Class from Sanchez and obviously wasn't affected by missing against Brazil in the shootout in the World Cup. Also missed the one he took for us didn't he?
It will be interesting to see how the winning penalty will affect Sanchez with us this season.. I am hoping its the polar opposite than Gervinho's AFCON's final penalty miss that destroyed him with us.
Hope he was carded for the shirtless celebration. That shit shouldn't fly. Grrr..

When Alexis' penalty went in, I cried from football for the first time in 17 years.
Keeping this cup home meant so much to us, and to have Alexis finish it off of all people (former Colo-Colo and current Arsenal player) just made it so ridiculously sweet for me. This done my decade.

No Gervinho actually refused to take a penalty the bottler.
Alexis should be installed as our 1st choice PK taker. Would help his stats.
Goddam alexis. All he does is win. All arsenal will do is win as long as we have him. What a man

Gervinho asked for but atlas didn't get a private beach

Was about to say that. He basically bottled ALL the important matches this season. Pathetic striker really in big games.

Copa America is played every 4 years, but in the last decade they kept changing the year that it's played after a certain cycle to gain more viewership.
Next year's Copa is a one off, it's sort of a special centennial tournament before it resumes as per normal 4 years later in 2019.
As things stand, Alexis will not have a summer break until 2020. He has Copa America 2016, Confed 2017, World Cup 2018, Copa 2019.
That is absolutely ridiculous.

It really isn't, sometimes it's every year, sometimes it's every 2nd year, or 3rd year, or 4th year, or there's just a random 8 year gap
Tournaments:
1916 1917 1919 1920 1921 1922 1923 1924 1925 1926 1927 1929 1935 1937 1939 1941 1942 1945 1946 1947 1949 1953 1955 1956 1957 1959 1959 1963 1967 1975 1979 1983 1987 1989 1991 1993 1995 1997 1999 2001 2004 2007 2011 2015
2019 2023
edit: but yeah, now it's set to be every 4 years until 2023 at least

Congratulations mate!
The passion of the Chilean people in the stands and of the players on the pitch is something very, very special. Such a great moment when Alexis won it for you. The video in this link captures it well;
Hope you can have one more crack at the World Cup with this group of players.
