I'd only be interested in keeping Ramsey and Chambo out of that lot, mostly just to see what a new manager could do with them, esp someone who understands the game like Allegri and his backroom staff. Hard not to expect that at worst, they'd be useful squad players. At best, they could be star players.

The others don't play much, anyway. We'd have to buy replacements, but we'd be freeing up a lot of wages.

However he considers himself to be a starter so as to retain his international career.
As back-up I'd rather retain Lucas or even Welbeck.

Hell I'd even still consider Balotelli.

If Sanchez rejects a new deal then IMO the only way he isn't sold is if the only offers matching our valuation are from PL rivals. Any talk by AW re keeping him so as to avoid a repeat of the RVP scenario simply does not hold water in terms of the financial/transfer strategy, let alone the previous sales of the likes of Nasri & even Fabregas, even if he did retain Sagna & others to their departure at the end of their contracts.

I don't think Wenger gives a crap about any financial strategy at this stage. We're much better off financially than we were when van Persie and Cesc left. If Wenger signs a new contract it'll most likely be a one-year extension too, so it's on the next manager to replace Sanchez and Özil if they still haven't signed by this time next year.

I didn't think he had it in him to hardball them, but it's the right strategy at this point.

I don't think either of our majority shareholder nor our business men of the BoD would have the appetite / football desire to see 2 players potentially worth close to 100m walk for free, as it's only the football that would be cause to retain them.

Despite our improved finances we can't afford to have 100m of assets walk for free, particularly as our 2 best assets that would cost a similar amount to replace in terms of quality and capability. As a business decision that is a 200m gamble, akin to a 6 point game that you lose.

I would be shocked if we sold Sanchez. Just can't see it happening. Ozil we might sell but it'll be a choice rather than a necessity.

Eventually we'll sell both if they want out, which I expect they will. Makes no sense to let them walk on a free.

Wenger seems convinced that Sanchez wants to stay and I think I believe him. Mesut doesn't sound like he has any real intention of leaving either.

I'd be absolutely shocked if the business that is Arsenal would hold either of Özil and Alexis so they can walk on a free next summer. For the record, I don't trust Wenger one iota on this either; this isn't the first time he has said this, then the club has gone right ahead selling the player.

It's what I've been saying all along. It's senseless to sell Sanchez. The best thing to do right now is go hard this summer and bring in some James, Isco types (your typical Wenger star acquisition), and then you try to convince our boys to stay.

I'd consider it a poor summer on the player out front if we don't manage to shift all of Debuchy, Jenkinson, Sanogo, Mertesacker, and Lucas off the books. None of whom are giving us anything bar Lucas who has been dicked about with by Wenger

Anyway on topic selling Bellerin this summer would be a mistake IMO. If he forces a move so be it but we need to keep the likes of him we lose CL football. He's not going to lose any value between this year and next anyway so why sell now?

lol - nope.
I don't care about the way the site is set up any more than I care about the crap we are dished up from AW & Co = it's simply a sign of the times etc.

As for Bellerin I see no point in keeping him if we are to retain the 3421 and Ox stays. It would make about as much sense to me as having 200m in Cash Reserves earning less than the current inflation rate whilst market prices continue to rise.
TBH I don't really see what the fuss is re Bellerin other than hype. IMO he's more of the same we've seen from Clichy & Co = their best attribute is their pace to recover position rather than in defending or end product in the final 3rd.
