Toral seems a good kid. I hope he does well.

I wonder how much of an impact something like four operations in 16-18 can have on your career!

It usually means lights out. I can't think of any player who missed years of crucial development before he turned 20 and then went on to become great.

Arsenal set to loan Isaac Hayden to Hull City. Would be the first time the player has gone out on loan. (Guardian)

Dan Crowley joins Barnsley on loan. Midfielder makes temporary move to League One side until January.

Akpom loan to Hull confirmed

Leaves us with Giroud, injured Welbeck, Theo and possibly Alexis as options at CF.
We have got to be planning a purchase....

Three strikers for one position is enough in fairness, purely in terms of quantity.

We lack goal scorers though. Even in the Community Shield we saw that Alexis out of the team means compromises; no one in their right mind is going to see a front 3 of Walcott, Cazorla and Chambo and come to the conclusion that it is enough in terms of a legit goal threat. Now, Akpom was never the solution, but we certainly lack goal scorers.

None bar Giroud are regular or proven in the position though and there is the argument that Theo and Alexis are better on the wings.

Espn claim Kieran Gibbs may leave at the end of the season in search of more regular football.

I'd be impressed if he did because I have him down as someone that is quite happy where he is.

Might be why we're being linked with Raphael Guerreiro, the Lorient left back, as a potential replacement?

I don't think Gibbs is a bad player, despite all the stick he gets, and I think we'll have to go some to get someone we can trust as much as we can him, at least from minute one next season, but it's definitely an opportunity to go out and a find a real talent in the position to give Monreal a run for his money.

Never liked him all that much. Hasn't improved that much either. Would like if he moved on.

I do rather like Bryan Oviedo from Everton, who'll be free this summer, or Gaya from Valencia.

Be careful what you wish for. Last time Wenger needed to sign a full back we got Debuchy.

Don't forget that Jenkinson can play there.

Oviedo strikes me as a superb free pickup, but I haven't seen much of him since he came back from injury. Think the talent is definitely there at least.

As long as he can get rid of his injury issues, he is a top class LB. He was playing much better than Baines at one point before he got injured again.

That's how I remember it too. I bet he'd rather sit on our bench than Everton's.
