Rennes have told Arsenal they are willing to pay a compensation fee to take Koscielny but they can’t pay the fee (€10m) Arsenal are demanding according to a report.

I can't find the report he is talking about but still...

I'm comfortable with this move. I know that many folks are annoyed with Bielik leaving but it is important to have balance and focus.
Balance in that a team cannot have too many inexperience players simultaneously, especially in defense where experience counts for so much in deciphering attacking patterns and player moves
Focus in that we need to be brave enough to bet on the youngsters we want to give maximum attention and on-the-job training to in the form of hours on the field to. That's going to be at least Holding. And maybe we are giving Chambers his last chance to prove himself. Scattered minutes help no man.

10m is a pretty okay deal, not top but at least not some peanuts we have been receiving in the past. If we have a first option or buy back I'm all for this

A hardly proven 19 year old. 10m + option/buy back would be ideal.
I also want us to sweat the assets we have. We have guys like Mavropanos who haven't played, Monreal will need to work, etc and Medley is to come through. Hopefully, we see more good sales.

i doubt he will come back when we didnt give him a chance in 4-5 years. i bet he will make a great career and his value will rocket

He'd kill to be playing for a club like Arsenal at 23, so I definitely wouldn't rule it out. He's been here since he was 16, he's probably an Arsenal fan now too. Like most kids that come through the youth team. Remember Szczesny literally crying when talking about Arsenal in his first press conference at Juventus?

Maybe like Everton's deal for Kean, Derby have offered a higher fee for Bielik in return for no sell on clause.

Meh, £7m is ok but nothing special. Take a look at some of the prices paid for bog standard English players in their mid 20's in the Championship. thats Jenks level.

Eh, under Wenger we would ship him off for 2m I guarantee you.

Also most wishlist here people think we would struggle to even ship him out for that price.

But I get your point too, just that if we get 7m it would be a big improvement from our past sales. For example we only got 7m for Gibbs, 15m for Coq etc when other rivals would have easily gotten double of that for their players
